Top Furmint

This top Furmint comes fromt the 2016 vintage: Crisp. Refined. Elegant. Most importantly though we celebrated by naming this wine after my first grandson, Sky. Just like my grandson, this wine will only get better with age as it matures and develops its own unique characteristics that will come to define it! The balanced acidity, stunning limestone minerality, and the unique flavors that only Furmint exhibits will be sure to delight!

Sky 2016 is Furmint 2016

While the label of our US Furmint 2016 does not denote the occasion, in Hungary this wine is labeled as Sky 2016 in honor of my grandson. In Hungary it has already won many awards and accolades, so to ensure you know this wine is the same as the award winning version of it in Hungary you can download a certficate of authenticity at the bottom of this page! Scroll down to the section tiled "Wine Profile" then click on the text that says "Download Wine Notes" and done! Now you have proof this is one in the same with the Hungarian labeled version of this wine.

Grand Cru

This elegant Furmint comes from the best terroir in Eger, the Nagy Eged hill. We are lucky to call part of this site our own and from it we produce only our most unique and rare wines. It was fermented and aged in 225 and 500 liter barrels on lees for 8 months. It is a complex, golden colored wine, exhibiting pear and apricot flavors with flinty overtones. It starts with a discreet and elegant aroma and opens into flavors of vanilla, peach and toasted seeds, ending with a pleasant and long finish.

Tasting Notes

A complex wine, exhibiting candied pear and apricot flavors with limestone and flint overtones. When it opens, our 2016 Sky Furmint exhibits flavors of vanilla, candied peach, and honey, with a smooth, soft, and long finish. Due to the botrytis from the 2010 vintage, this wine has a higher viscoscity to it.
